Who’zTheDaddy?™ offer accurate and reliable home paternity testing. Home Paternity testing is the quickest and easiest way of clearing any doubts you might have as to who has fathered a child. Our home test starts from just £78 with results in only 3-5 working days from receipt of samples at the laboratory.  Unlike many other DNA testing companies that test only 16 genetic markers, we test 21 genetic markers to give the most accurate results possible.

Note: We can only guarantee standard result turnaround time when testing takes place solely using oral swab samples. Using a forensic sample for your test may lead to an increase in turnaround time.

We do not offer express testing if you chose to send a forensic  sample. We can offer express testing only if you use mouth swabs.

Science behind the test

In order to carry out a paternity test we compare the DNA profiles of the alleged father and the child. Each genetic profile consists of a number of genetic markers. We look for a match between all genetic markers to know whether or not the tested alleged father is the biological father of the child. Adding the sample of the mother can help us have a stronger result as we are able to clearly eliminate her share of genetic inheritance.

Sample Collection

Home paternity testing is done using our at home kit. Our kits are specially packed for DNA testing and are easy to use and understand. We provide everything you need inside our kit including:

    • Swabs for up to 3 people (2 swabs per person)
    • Instructions to help you collect your samples
    • Consent forms
    • Pre-addressed envelope

The Human Tissue Act: Important

It is important to be aware that in the UK the Human Tissue Act regulates the collection and analysis of any human tissue. In order to send a sample for analysis, the person or donor of that sample must give their consent in writing in order for us to test their sample. Furthermore, in order to be fully compliant with the Human Tissue Act, the donor of the sample must also be made aware of how their DNA sample will be used. Failure to comply with the Human Tissue Act is a criminal offence.

We will not proceed with any testing if we do not have consent from all test participants. Testing any samples will be put on hold until we get the required signatures from all individuals.

FAQs

Do I need to test the mother?

We always suggest testing the mother as this can give stronger results. However, many of our paternity tests are carried out without the mother’s sample. In cases where the mother is not tested, the probability of paternity will be 99.9% or higher if the tested father is the biological father. If we have the mother’s sample, we can guarantee a minimum probability of 99.99%. Without the mother’s sample, if the tested man is not the biological father, results will exclude him with a probability of 100%.

I need my DNA test for legal purposes. How do I proceed?

Our home paternity test results are not court admissible. They are purely informative and carried out for peace of mind. If you need a legal test, proceed to our legal paternity testing page for more information.

Paternity Testing Results: How Accurate Are They?

Paternity test results are highly accurate. We always suggest sending in samples for the alleged father, mother and child (or children) in order to have the most accurate result possible. Paternity test results will show a probability of paternity indicating how likely it is that the tested father is the biological father. This probability of paternity can be one the following:

  • 0% probability of paternity : such a result would exclude the tested, alleged father as the biological father.

  • 99.99% probability of paternity : such a probability means the tested, alleged father is the biological father of the child.

Who’zTheDaddy?™ offer the quickest and most convenient way of accessing your results. The instant we have completed the analysis in our laboratory, the results will be available to you (on the4th day from receipt of samples) via our online result pick up page.
